Postponed due to suspect wind forecast making it less than ideal for a photo-friendly cruise and camp.
We will drive to Jindabyne on Friday night to hopefully take advantage of calm dawn conditions on Saturday to paddle from Jindabyne to the North West corner of the lake in search of a spot to camp. We'll stop for lunch along the way and explore whatever little islands and bays we find. Expect to paddle 15-20km over the course of the day and don't expect a flash campsite - it will likely just be a patch on the shore, with some flat ground between the trees if we are lucky.
We will spend a relaxing evening (and maybe afternoon if the wind picks up early) at the campsite before an early night an another dawn start for the return back to Jindabyne. There should be plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and load up on instagram gold.
Participants will need to have kayaked at least twice in a single kayak before, to attend the pre-trip at the Tuesday paddling on 6 February and to be self sufficient and competent camping in the bush with zero facilities (complete leave no trace, including carrying out your poo).
Registering for the trip is an expression of interest only and the group will be balanced so that there is enough skill among the participants to avoid compromising safety. If I don't know you, please write a few sentences about your kayaking and camping experience.
