Undulating hills, beautiful Snowgums and stunning views. This will be a fun and easy paced overnight ski trip to one of my favourite mountains in the alpine.
Who is this trip for?
This trip is suitable for fit beginner skiers with overnight bushwalking experience who are keen to put their Selwyn lesson into practice. We will be using the club Telemark / NNN gear not the AT gear.
Distance – 16km each day
We will park near Wolgal hut at Kiandra and head up Dunns hill along the AAWT. We will stop in at the lovely Four Mile hut for lunch and then continue on to Tabletop. If it isn’t too windy the plan is to camp on top of Tabletop to watch the sunrise and sunset. If the wind is too strong, we will camp below tabletop in one of the many sheltered spots on the north-eastern side of the hill. There are some fun and easy turns to be had around Tabeltop if we get the time.
We will return the same way on Sunday with a possible side trip to Broken Dam hut.

The fine print:
Registrations will open on the 16th of July.
There is only room for 4 people including myself on this trip. Signing up does not guarantee you a spot on the trip. When registering please give me a brief outline of your skiing and overnight bushwalking experience. I will make a decision on who is most suitable and notify everybody of the outcome no later than a week prior to the trip commencing.
If the weather looks bad, I will cancel the trip or change it to a bushwalk somewhere else. As we are chasing views and not turns there isn’t any point going if we can’t see anything. The cancellation may happen as late as the morning of. Please keep this in mind when registering. Unfortunately this is the nature of any trip to the high country.
Pre trip and transport:
We will have a pre trip meeting the Thursday before the trip so we can go over the plan and organise gear. I will send around a list of things to pack for the trip prior to the meeting. I will drive on the day.
