Trying to ski Mt Gingera

Trip type:
Skiing
Start date:
Saturday, 24 August 2019 - 6:00am

There have been some decent snowfalls in the ACT the past few weeks so it would be nice to get some skiing close to Canberra. The plan is to carry skis up the stockyard spur towards Mt Gingera (~1850m elevation) and hope that there is enough snow to do some skiing. We will likely be able to skin some of the 21 km route at least from the top of the Stockyard Spur although this is not guaranteed. Treat this trip as a hike where we may get to ski on some not very good snow.

Costs:
$10 for fuel
Intended plan:
Hike/ski from Corin Dam to top of Mt Gingera via the Stockyard Spur and back the same route (approximately 21km and 1150m elevation gain).
Departure and intended return times:
Leaving ANU sport at 6 am and returning 5 pm Saturday
Local knowledge:
I have walked this route a number of times and foolishly carried skis up once.
Unlimited slots left.
