CLUB UPDATE 26/07:
Good evening everyone!
With Semester 2 beginning tomorrow, we have a lot of exciting news and updates for you on various club activities.
From tomorrow 27/07, the gear store will be open on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-6:30pm.
You will be able to hire out gear on Thursdays, with the aim to have the gear returned on Monday. All gear will be quarantined for 72 hours, and ready to hire out again by the next Thursday. Normal gear hire rules and rates apply, along with our new COVID restrictions. Details can be found here.
The ANU Climbing wall will be open from Monday 27th July. Hours can be found via the calendar here.
We will be operating under new COVID restrictions. There are several changes to be aware of, namely that bookings will be required and there will be no gear hire (so please bring own harnesses and shoes). Bookings can be made through this google form: https://forms.gle/1Fky2zturmnKBCJN9

Good evening ANUMC club members,
We are now well and truly into Canberran winter, and have great news for those of you dreaming of going on winter trips but who lack the gear for it! That's right, the gear store will be opening very soon!
The gear store will be reopening next week, from 6-7pm on Thursday 09/07. We will only be open for 1 hour on Thursdays for the near future and will be operating under Covid-restrictions.
Please read the following guidelines carefully before coming to the gear store:
- Maintain 1.5m social distancing at all times
- No more than 4 people in gear store at once (including gear store officers) – please wait out in the gym
- Please hold pre-trip meetings outside gear store, and be ready to hire gear by 6pm
- Use hand sanitiser before handling gear
- Please do not come to the gear store if you are experiencing illness, symptoms of COVID-19, have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 or have travelled internationally in the last 14 days.
All gear will be quarantined for at least 72 hours in the gear store upon return, so please be aware that as we are only opening once a week we may have limited gear available. All other gear store rules and hire rates will apply as normal, and can be found here: http://anumc.org.au/gear-store/hire-rules
For those of you who still have gear from before the store was shut, please return it as soon as you can, however we will be lenient for the first few weeks as we understand not everyone is in Canberra. Please also bear with us for the first few weeks as we sort out any kinks that may arise through operating under these new restrictions. We will try our best to improve and adapt to the situation as it changes.
Remains closed for the near future. Our climbing wall officers are currently working hard to get holds cleaned and routes set, so we expect to be able to open up again in a few weeks time!
If you have any questions or concerns, please email the ANUMC exec at email@example.com

Hi everyone - I have good news!
Thanks to the easing restrictions, and guidelines from ANU Sport and the university, we are able to start up some of our club activities again!
Please have a good read through the guidelines below, as there are several restrictions that we will be operating under for the next few weeks.
Outdoor club trips are allowed to start up again, under certain restrictions:
- No more than 20 people
- Social distancing 1.5m must be maintained at all times
- Limit sharing of food and equipment
- Maintain hygiene practices e.g. hand sanitisation
Do not attend activities if:
- you are feeling unwell
- have flu-like symptoms
- have travelled internationally in the last 14 days
- have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days
- your health is considered high risk
Overnight trips and car pooling are allowed, as long as equipment and food are not shared.
Kayaking can start up again at the regular times (Tuesday 5:30pm, and Thursday 6:30am) plus any extra evenings dependent on leader availability. Equipment such as life jackets must be disinfected before and after use, and paddles wiped down – cleaning items will be provided at the boat shed.
For trip leaders:
Please keep an updated list of participants. This will need to be passed on to Kaitlin, our COVID-19 Safety Officer, after each trip. (See here for her contact details.)
Trip participants must indicate whether they have the COVID safe app or not.
Attendance information will be held for 28 days, and only passed on to ANU sport if necessary.
Gear store is to remain closed until restrictions ease further.
ANU Climbing wall remains closed until further notice.
Keep an eye on your emails and this Facebook page for updates over the next few weeks.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the exec at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Direct any questions to the club executive -- email@example.com -- and check this page for further updates.
If you have club gear, please hold on to it and return it at a later date. You will not be charged for overdue rentals.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FROM OUR HEAD GEAR STORE OFFICER:
As stated above, the Gear Store is closed indefinitely. At least until the SRA says otherwise. Fines for late returns will not accumulate over this period. Gear that was already late by last Monday (i.e. 9th March) will incur the fine that already applied.
In the mean time, please look after our collectively owned gear! Dry tents, wash liners and don't lose stuff. Also, try not to get covid all over it :) stay safe!
