Rogaining 101

Trip type:
Start date:
Thursday, 30 July 2020 - 6:30pm

Are you a lean mean rogaining machine but who has had little success on the course? Or are you in a state of constant befuddlement over what this mysterious and intriguing 'rogaine' is?

Join us on Thursday July 30th to have all your burning questions answered! We will meet at the mezzanine at the ANU Sport New Hall, where we will begin with a brief explanation of rogaining, and then will split into smaller groups to work on skills and techniques. There will also be a chance to head outside and practice some compass skills (so please make sure to bring warm clothes!).

Skills to be covered:

  • how to read a map
  • taking a compass bearing
  • typical gear required for rogaines
  • planning the perfect route

With the Jerrabombera Virtual Rogaine extended until August 2, and hopefully more in person rogaines to come, this is the great chance to brush up on your rogaine skills before beating all the competition! :D

Please make sure to register for this event so we can keep track of who attends.

In line with our Covid-safe policy: do not attend if you're feeling unwell, have flu-like symptoms, have travelled internationally or been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or your health is considered high risk. Please also indicate whether you have the Covid-safe app or not.
