Welcome all to Bush Week and the ANUMC!
Have you been spending a bit too much to much time on the ground recently? Are you sick of the big smoke already and looking for an excuse to neglect your studies? Then why not give some outdoor climbing a go this Friday!
Ashley, D'Arcy and I are planning on heading out to Wickerslack Crag this Friday to show a lucky few people the ropes (so to speak) of this exciting sport!
We will be setting up some top-ropes and belaying so there is no prior climbing experience required to come along and anyone is more than welcome.
We will meet out the front of ANU Sport at 8:00am, and try to depart as soon as possible to get to the Crag parking at approx 8:30. There is a 15 minute walk to Wickerslack after which we will spend the day climbing. We will aim to be packed and ready to leave at 3:45pm to get back to ANU Sport by roughly 4:30pm. If people are tired/finished before this we can pack up and leave earlier :)
If you wanted more information on where we will be climbing and some of the routes their please visit thecrag.com: https://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/river-crags/wickerslack-crag
We will have a pre-trip meeting on the Thursday at 5:45pm outside ANU Sport to work out who is getting a lift with who (We will have three cars), after which I will hire any gear you may require when the gear shed opens. At a minimum this will include:
- Climbing Shoes (If you know your shoe size before hand it will really help)
Please feel free to bring your own gear if you have any!
