You are invited to the Annual ANUMC awards night. Please sign up for booking for Covid-19 purposes! (Seriously, do!)
There will be a number of awards presented on the night including the 'The Axe' award and the annual awards for Trip Leader of the Year, Beginner of the Year and Up and Coming Trip Leader of the year. We will also judge the best photos taken in 2020!
If you have been on a ANUMC trip this year, there's a strong possibility that you could also be nominated for any number of our awards!
We will also be holding the Annual General Meeting as expeditiously as possible throughout the course of the evening.
Venue: The Civic Pub
Address: 8 Lonsdale Street, Braddon
Drinks will be provided.
We have a maximum physical capacity of 40. There will be a Zoom link posted on this event and on the ANUMC Facebook group prior to the event for virtual attendance.
Nominations for the 2021 executive positions are now open. An executive position is a great way to meet fellow club members, contribute to decision making and become more involved in running such an awesome club. It also looks great on the CV.
The executive positions are:
- Vice President (and trip convenor)
- Social Officer
- General Officers x 2
A description of the duties for each of these positions is at http://anumc.org.au/members/club_management
You can also contact the current executive members (http://anumc.org.au/members/contacts) if you would like to know more about what's involved with any of the positions.
The running of the club benefits from new people and fresh ideas, so don't be shy about nominating! We are particularly in need of students, as the club aims to balance students and non-students on the executive and ensure our decisions reflects the needs of both. No experience is necessary for any of the positions - in particular, you don't need to be 'good' at outdoor activities.
You can nominate, for as many positions as you like, preferably before the AGM simply by emailing me - firstname.lastname@example.org (no 'sales pitch' required). Nominations will also be taken at the AGM and the new executive will be voted upon by current ANUMC members present at the AGM.
The remainder of the 2021 Committee will then be established in the weeks after the AGM.
If you have any questions, please contact anyone on the current executive.
Also, we are now calling for nominations for the following awards and the annual photo competition. Importantly, the list is not comprehensive - if you feel that someone has done something that warrants an award, awesome or awesomely ridiculous, but does not fit into the categories below, then nominate them for a new award!
The serious awards:
- ANUMC Hall of Fame ('The Axe') - for outstanding service to the club
- Trip Leader of the Year
- Up and Coming Trip Leader of the Year
- Beginner of the Year
... the not so serious awards:
- Bandaid Award for Best Injury
- Swamp Monster Award for Aquatic Misadventure
- Snow Bunny Award
- Back Country Cuisine Award
- Culinary Disaster Award
- Geographical Discombobulation Award for Contributions to Navigational Excellence
- The 'Macgyver Award' for innovative and creative problem solving skills in the bush
- The "Faff Award for time wasting in the bush"
...and any other category you think should be awarded!
Last but not least, we have the photo competition. There are prizes for each category and the photos you submit may be used for a range of promotional activities such as the new ANUMC website, posters, calendars etc. Please note that there is a limit of one photo per person per category and the photo entries need to be related to ANUMC activities.
