There are still a few pumps to install/decklines to replace/rudders to fine-tune, so we're re-convening at Bywong to finish the job. We'll also practice some techniques on the dam and generally have fun after the work is done. This is a good opportunity for people keen to learn how to seakayak, to contribute to the club while familiarising themselves with the club boats and progressing their actual seakayaking kayaking skills. I am hoping to gather a group of club members who are enthusiastic to continue learning to seakayak and who are committed enough to eventually run their own trips and revitalise club seakayaking. Accordingly, this trip is really limited to people who fit this description, rather than those merely wanting to progress their general paddling skills.

Saturday, 13 March 2021 - 9:00am to Sunday, 14 March 2021 - 6:15pm
We'll meet at the shed on Friday and pack the gear onto the trailer. There's an option to camp on Friday night if anyone wants to make a weekend out of it. On Saturday, we meet at Bywong and work on boats, interspersed with paddling and practicing techniques on the dam. At dusk, we have drinks and nibblies and dinner beside the water and possibly retire to the house to watch kayak videos, learn some knots and navigation, etc. Sunday is a repeat of Saturday, except that around 5pm we pack up and take the gear back to the shed at ANU. Transport and other details will be finalised at the pretrip.
Departure and intended return times:
