The course will be held at the Australian National University over two separate days. As the event is subsidised by the club, and places will be limited, registering for this trip will not guarantee you a spot. Those who have, or intend to use their skills to contribute to the club (such as by leading trips or serving on the executive, committee or as an officer) will be given priority in completing this course.
Please state under 'additional information' how you have or intend to contribute to the club if you'd like to guarantee yourself a spot. Successful applicants will be emailed detailed payment instructions and course pre-readings.
Wilderness First Aid Australia (WFAA) is an Australian owned company established in 2010 that specialises in wilderness/remote area first aid education for those unexpected situations you may find yourself in where medical help is a long way from you. At WFAA students learn decision-making skills, treatment principles and are put to the test by responding to real life scenarios based on your skills and knowledge that are developed over the duration of your course. http://wildernessmedicine.com.au/
WFAA will be sending an instructor who is also a professional ski patroller from the USA. However, the course will be tailored to suit ANUMC's wide range of activities.
