This training session is aimed at members who have expressed an interest in developing roping skills to support club activities. The intent is to demonstrate the basics for setting up top rope and abseil anchors using natural and man-made features.
Please do not put your name down if you have never been climbing or canyoning.

Equipment
The session will be in the benign environment around the campus so you'll only need a harness.

Homework. Before attending please make sure you know:
- How to tie figure eight and alpine butterfly knots,
- What is the minimum rated strength of a sling in accordance with European Standard EN 566?
- What is the minimum rated strength of a Type A and B static rope (EN 1891)?
- What is the minimum rated strength of a belay loop on a Type C (sit ) harness (EN 12277)?
