The trip is now full. All future details will be sent via email.
The annual Blue Mountains Extravaganza is happening again on the Canberra Day long weekend (Saturday 11th March - Monday 13th March). It will be based in Newnes campground (http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/camping-and-accommodation/campground...) in the Wolgan Valley. The speccy campsite has easy access to epic viewpoints, canyons, ruins and the Wolgan river. There will be a range of canyons and walks organized each day.
Times:
The trip is from Friday afternoon (10/3) til late Monday evening (13/3). In general it will be difficult to arrange a ride back earlier than Monday, or a ride up other than Friday evening.
You must also attend the pre-trip on Thursday (9/3) at 6pm to organize tent and vehicle groups as well as pay the trip fee.
Canyoning:
Canyon trips are now up. There are a limited number of spots each day, participants will usually be considered on basis of experience either in past canyon trips or come and try sessions.
Please include details of your experience level (previous trips, climbing or abseilling experience). This will help us ensure the correct ratio of experience on a trip.
We will try to ensure everyone gets on at least one canyon. That may mean that you miss out on canyoning one day, but there are also walking trips going on.
For those of you who haven't canyoned before and haven't joined an abseil session at the gym there is one on Monday (http://anumc.org.au/node/1041) and one on Wednesday (http://anumc.org.au/node/1044) before BME.
Daily Trips:
Trips for each day of BME are now posted. You should sign up to one trip on each day of BME. There are some placeholder trips which will be filled in during the week.
Everyone on a placeholder trip should get a spot. You can sign up to either a specific trip or a placeholder trip. If you want to switch from a placeholder trip to a more specific trip, then make sure to cancel your registration for the placeholder.
We will reorganize registrations on Tuesday (7/3) to ensure a balance of experience, so until then registration on all individual trips will be treated as an expression of interest only.
If you are still signed up to a placeholder trip then, we will assign you to a trip that matches your experience level.
