Beyond ‘Doing it Scared’ with Paul Pritchard - FREE TICKETS

Following the success of his award winning documentary, Doing It Scared, Paul is hitting the road to share his incredible story of climbing the Totem Pole 18 years after a catastrophic accident left him partially paralysed. This is a story about determination, acceptance, grace and ultimately, freedom. On Wednesday 7pm next week Paul will be talking at the ANU Tank.

World Expeditions are running a free mountaineering information evening with Soren Kruse Ledet who has more than 15 years of Himalayan mountaineering experience including entry level and highly technical ascents including dual mountain expeditions to Mera Peak (6460m) and Baruntse (7129m), Lobuche (6119m) and Ama Dablam (6856m)and Cholo (6097m) and Cholatse (6440m).

Soren will enthrall you with images and an exciting commentary about how trekkers or entry level mountaineers can take the next steps into the heights of the Himalaya on a mountaineering holiday of a lifetime.

Radical Reels Tickets

The club has purchased 20 tickets to the The Radical Reels Tour screening at the National Film and Sound Archives on the 19th of November.  The tickets are being sold at the reduced rate of $27.50 each.

There has been a lot of interest in the tickets, so in order to keep it as fair as possible we will offer the tickets to the first people who register. I'll be in contact to let you know if you have secured a ticket.

Social slide night: NZ mud, Tassie canyons and Socrotora!

Join us at the Haydon Allen Tank for much anticipated slide shows from recent Expedition and Adventure Fund trips!

Josh Bax will show photos from the New Zealand Dusky Track.

Jason Macqueen and the gang will show a film from the Tasmanian exploratory canyoning trip.

And Chris Elliott will show photos from the Socrotora climbing trip, along with Mali, Morocco and the Bugaboos.

It is sure to be a fascinating and entertaining evening! Plus we will have pizza :)

ANUMC Awards night (and AGM)

You are invited to the Annual ANUMC awards night. Please sign up for catering purposes! (Seriously, do!)

There will be a number of awards presented on the night including the 'The Axe' award and the annual awards for Trip Leader of the Year, Beginner of the Year and Up and Coming Trip Leader of the year. We will also judge the best photos taken in 2016!

If you have been on a ANUMC trip this year, there's a strong possibility that you could also be nominated for any number of our awards!
