Intermediate snow camp tour to White's River Hut and side trip to Dicky Cooper Bogong. This trip is suitable for those who have snow camped before and have reasonable fitness and confident down hill skills whilst wearing an overnight pack.

Expression of Interests: KHA Annual Gathering and Woodskills - Wee Jasper

In May 2019 the Club has purchased a Kosciuszko Huts Association (KHA) membership, which allows ANUMC members to help restore and maintain the remaining historic huts and heritage homesteads in Kosciuszko National Park. Each time when KHA is organizing a work party or workshop, up to 10 ANUMC members could participate and will be covered by KHA's insurance. Apparently there will be no work parties until Spring.

Remote First Aid Scenario refresher ( WANTED First Aid Responders and actors/actresses)

Remote First Aid Scenario refresher

When? Friday 14th June 5 - 7pm

Location? ANU Boat shed. 

For those that attended the Remote First course bring your wildness remote first aid guide book.

First Aiders, please bring the following:

  • notepad and pen
  • jumper (warm layers)
  • Bottle of water
  • headlamp
  • sleeping bag (or mylar blanket)
  • sleeping mat 
  • tarp/tent floor
  • hiking poles
  • backpack for the above gear

Scenario will include the following refresher:

Social Paddle

Come for a social paddle on lake burley griffin!

Start at 10am at the boat shed, should be done by 12pm. Beginners welcome.

Thursday Ride

We will be continuing our Weekly Bruce Ridge sessions where we head out to Bruce Ridge at 5:30 and session some of the local trails. If you're not sure whether your bike is up to the ride, then come along anyway, and we'll try and get it in working order.

The plan is to meet outside ANU sport at 5:30 with bikes, head out to Bruce ridge (about 10-15 minutes ride) aiming to be back by 6:30-7 depending on how we're feeling and light.

Beginner Mountain Bike Skills/Info Session

If you intend on starting mountain biking this year but aren't sure if your bike is suitable, or wish to pickup some skills in bike mechanics, this is the event for you.

in this beginner skills/info session we'll go over the basics of how to maintain a bike, and make sure that the bikes we are riding are safe for mountain biking. These skills are going to be important if you wish to participate on rides this year.

We will be meeting at Fellows Oval barbecues at 5:00 (nice open space). You're going to need a bike and a helmet.
