The Bush Week market day will be on Wednesday 20th July. The ANUMC will have a stall and we need you to help man it! Market day volunteers will help promote the club, describe our activities, and sign up new members.

Abseiling is a useful skill employed in climbing, canyoning and caving.
This introductory session will teach you the basic techniques for descending a rope as well as belaying. You'll each get a few runs from the gantry above the gym floor..
Meet at the bleachers overlooking the wall.
All gear will be provided.

This training session is aimed at members who have expressed an interest in developing roping skills to support club activities. The intent is to demonstrate the basics for setting up top rope and abseil anchors using natural and man-made features.

Please do not put your name down if you have never been climbing or canyoning.

Meet at the SRC

Equipment
The session will be in the benign environment around the campus so you'll only need a harness.
I'll provide group equipment

Come along on Saturday Morning for some trails at Stromlo with a friendly group of people.

The course will be held at the Australian National University over two separate days. As the event is subsidised by the club, and places will be limited, registering for this trip will not guarantee you a spot. Those who have, or intend to use their skills to contribute to the club (such as by leading trips or serving on the executive, committee or as an officer) will be given priority in completing this course.

We'll go over the gear you will be using (and what you should bring) and what to expect during club trips.
It's a great chance to meet some of the canyon leaders and have your questions answered.

We'll meet at 6.15pm on the bleachers (green steps) by the old wall in the gym. We want as much time on the ropes as possible, so please be on time!
