Hi folks,
I have space for two experienced canyoners to join my wife and I for a trip to Mt Wilson for some canyoning. Plan is to head up Friday evening (leave Canberra by 5.30pm) camp at Mt Wilson.
Saturday Bell Creek Canyon - a long dark and cold canyon with wonderful formations. No abseils although the entry to the canyon involves exposed downclimbs and scrambles (we will have a hand line to assist). Wetsuit, spray jacket/rain jacket, beanie and spare thermals in addition to normal canyoning gear required due to the cold and length of canyon.
Sunday will be a short trip, exact canyon to be confirmed but likely to be Empress or Grand (wet, 1 abseil and fairly short) with a view to returning to Canberra not too late in the evening.
You will need to have canyoned previously, be comfortable with abseiling including self belay and be comfortable with a long day on Saturday (most likely aim to be leaving camp by 7.30am and may not be back til after 6pm). I will be screening interested people to ensure they have suitable experience - if I haven't canyoned with you before you MUST provide a description of your canyoning experience in the notes or I will not approve you joining the trip.
Note if the weather forecast is not favourable (rain or very low daytime temps) I will change location to Bungonia, with a canyon (Bungonia Main or Jerrara Creek) one day and a cave with rope access for Sunday. I will make a call based on weather forecast on Wednesday 14/11 and advise final plan at the pre trip.

As above - Bell Creek as per Jamison notes on Saturday and Grand or Empress Sunday.
