This is a call for expressions of interest for the expedition "Alpine Cragging in Ala Archa", which will be funded by the expedition fund. The full details can be found here.
Our basic plan is to go climb moderate to hard alpine routes in Ala Archa National Park in Kyrgyzstan. There are plethora of routes here at all difficulties, and the national park is only a day's travel from the nation's capital, Bishkek. I'm hoping to go in August or September of 2020, but these dates are subject to change as my availability becomes clear. I'd like to stay in the range for at least 4 weeks.
It is a little expensive to fly to Kyrgyzstan, but after this, costs in country are very low. The estimated cost is $2800 AUD per person, of which a maximum of $500 per person will be covered, to a maximum of $1500 total.
This trip is notionally open to people of varying skill levels, but some mountaineering experience will be required. At a minimum, completion of a mountaineering course, or some mountaineering experience.
