This is an INFORMAL skills session to either:
- Learn how to clean a basic (sport) anchor OR
- Refresh/revise your cleaning skills OR
- Teach what you know!
Signing up does not guarantee you a spot, but there will be similar sessions run in future. You can sign up even if the trip says full.
*You will not be shown how to vacuum.

DESCRIPTION
For climbers who:
- Have been outdoors before and are familiar with tying in (figure 8) and using a belay device
- Have never cleaned before
- Have cleaned before but Obliterated™ the procedure from memory
- Are heading outdoors and want to refresh/revise/confirm their technique
- Want to share what they know
Lead experience is not necessary.
If you are confident in your cleaning abilities and would like to teach what you know, please let me know in your registration!

REGISTRATION
If you want to learn/revise, please briefly outline your climbing/cleaning experience if I have not climbed with you before. In failing to do so, you will not be considered for the session.
There will be an allocation of only two people learning for the first time per experienced person.

PARTICIPANTS
Participants will be confirmed by Sunday 9th August. If you are confirmed for the session, you will need to:
Be able to tie-in using a figure 8: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFlwrvggas0 and
Be able to tie a figure 8 on bight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8jRok7Kofw
You can practice these with a shoelace or other string if you don't have a rope (or just Visualise™ until you Memorise™). You should be familiar with these before the session.
You will need to bring:
- Climbing harness
- Belay device (optional)
- Locking carabiner (optional)
