Greetings snow people,
The base layer is building and alpine touring will be on the menu soon. This trip is to brush up on skiing skills at Perisher resort. This trip is geared toward people who can already ski a blue grade run and want to practice their turns before they have to work for every downhill run.
The trip numbers are based on available car seats right now. If we can get experienced skiers and a second car, I'll contact people on the waitlist.
The cost:
- Ski hire - club rates
- Perisher lift ticket - about $200/day
- Fuel - about $30
The plan:
- No pre-trip. I'll contact you individually.
- Pick-up at ANU at 5:30am, 10 July
- Return to ANU by approximately 8pm, 10 July
Weather is a big factor here. If it's too windy or raining up there, the trip will be cancelled.
You will need to bring:
- A ski jacket or wind-proof raincoat
- Thermals
- A thermal mid-layer
- Ski goggles/sunglasses & helmet
- Rain pants
- Water (1 litre)
- Sunscreen
- Lunch - optional (food is really expensive up there)
Snowboarders are people too so if you're that type, feel free to sign up so long as you can comfortably run a blue.
