Archived trip from old website run by jmacqueen
The Canberra Balloon Spectacular is one of the longest running hot air ballooning events in the world. The event is one of a kind and one of the few places in the world where hot air balloons can fly so close to houses of government and buildings of national significance.
The plan will be to meet at the boat shed at 6:30am and paddle around to Queen Elizabeth Terrace (between Parliament and the war memorial) where we should be able to get the best view of the balloons as they take off. After taking in the in the sunrise and balloons before we head back to the boat shed and the real world for the rest of the day.
