This trip is meant for beginners who want to learn the skills necessary to get down an easy white water run or anyone else who wants to get a bit of practice in. If more experienced people sign up who are happy to help out we will be able to take more beginners. You must be comfortable in the water and a strong swimmer.
We will start at Pine Island to practice wet exits, bracing, breaking in, eddying out and ferrying.
We will then drive up to Point Hut so we can practise these skill on the Point Hut - Pine Island run (grade 2).
Meet at the shed at 10am. The water will be cold, and if you are a beginner you will probably be swimming. Please dress very warmly. I will wear a wetsuit and cag.
Signups will be limited by the number of experienced people who can come, and the number of cars we have available. When you sign up please tell me how experienced you are, and how many boats you can drive to the river.
