This is a day trip to the small ski resort at Selwyn Snowfields. We will take Club skis and practice our technique here in the resort environment, while we wait for more snow to make more adventurous trips possible. Selwyn does a good job of grooming a little bit of snow across the runs, so it is often a nice place to ski when there is very little natural snow on the hills. The lift ticket is discounted because it is June. Naturally we will monitor the snow report and we'll only go if there is some snow!
This trip is suitable for anyone who skied with the Club last year, or who has XC skied before and would be comfortable in a ski resort for a day. This trip is not suitable for first-time skiers - sign up for one of our beginners' lessons instead. Of course we will be happy to provide hints and tips, and if you are keen to learn the telemark turn we will provide as much help as we can.
