The trip will head down to the coast for an enjoyable days sea kayaking in the Batemans Bay area on the Sunday of the coming long weekend. The exact route will be weather dependent but will hopefully take in the Murramarang National Park and Durras areas.
You don't need to be an expert paddler but will need to be familiar with and comfortable in a kayak.
Please also let me know when signing up if you have a vehicle with roof racks as we are limited by the number of boats we can transport. We will meet at the boat shed early on Sunday morning to load boats and then head for the coast.
The aim is to be off the water by around 4pm and returning to Canberra in the late afternoon/evening, possibly getting something to eat along the way. There is also the potential to camp out on the coast on the Sunday evening and then return to Canberra on Monday if people are interested.
Drive to Batemans Bay region on Sunday morning and select an appropriate put-in point depending on the weather, preferably on the Northern side of Batemans Bay. Spend the day exploring the coast and be off the water at the same location as the put-in by 4-4:30pm. Either drive back to Canberra that night or camp at a nearby site and return on Monday.
