A slightly easier variation on Tom's trip: the aim will be to cater to a range of walking paces and to limit the distance covered with full packs.
On Saturday morning we'll walk from the carpark at Dead Horse Gap then follow the Ram's Head range along to a campsite near North Ram's head.
Once tents are pitched we can explore some of the bluffs in the Ram's head range with day packs.
Sunday morning we'll follow the tourist track to Kosci summit before returning to break camp and leaving via South Ram's head and the slope above DHG carpark.
Pre-trip will be shared with the other snow-shoe trip and the gear list remains unchanged.
8.30am depart DHG carpark, follow DHG track
Either follow Bogong ck North or follow Kosci track then branch west to Rams head North
Expect to camp by 2pm
Explore area of Ram's head (SW of camp), return to camp by 4.30pm
Sunday:
Depart camp at 8am, head north to join AAWT at Etheridge gap
Kosci summit between 11-12pm
Aim to break camp by 2pm latest aim for 4pm at cars
* We will share cars- each group will have one set of keys and will depart from DHG carpark together
