Archived trip from old website run by Mark Euston
The Murrumbidgee should be at a reasonable level this weekend so we're going to do a beginner Pt Hut to Pine Island run and then the experienced paddlers might continue on and do Red Rocks.
Pt Hut to Pine Island is a Grade 1-2 river and is suitable for first time whitewater paddlers. It is definitely NOT suitable for first time paddlers, however. You will need to be confident paddling on flat water and have done wet exits and preferably had some practice at rolling.
When you sign up, please add a description about your paddling experience. If a lot of people sign up then numbers will be limited based on how many experienced paddlers we have.
Bring clothes and shoes to get wet in (shoes are compulsory) and a change of clothes and ideally a towel for the car trip back.
Meet at the boatshed at 10am.
Paddle Pt Hut-Pine Island section, then continue on and Red Rocks with experienced paddlers if numbers and cars work.
