Archived trip from old website run by Mark Euston
This trip is part of the Blue Mountains Extravaganza. Please sign up to the main trip before signing up to this one - http://anumc.org.au/node/610
I will not have a car, so please indicate in the comments if you will be bringing a car to the BME. If there is a shortage of cars, then priority will go to people with cars.
Dam Cliffs is a great easy crag with lots of climbs, mostly between 15-20 but with several ~12s and mid 20s. It also has a dam to swim in and deep-water soloing, which is great if it's a warm day.
This trip is suitable for people that have never climbed outdoors before, but not for people that have never climbed at all. You will need a belay pass (any climbing gym will do) or have climbed a few times outdoors before. Basically I need to know that you can belay someone on top rope competently, so if I don't know you, briefly describe your experience in the comments section.
You will need (can be hired from gear store):
* Helmet
* Climbing harness
* Climbing shoes
* Belay device and locking carabiner
General stuff:
* Hat and sunscreen
* Lunch and snacks
* Swimmers if you want to swim or deep-water solo
By signing up to this trip you agree to make fun of Ursies, and former Ursies residents, at every opportunity.
James and I will be leading. I have climbed at Dam Cliffs once before. We'll have first-aid kit, mobile phone and hopefully a club PLB
