Hi all,
Going to do a moderate hike to Bimberi peak over two days, starting from the north end of Tantagara reservoir, along past Oldfields Hut, up to Murrays Gap then onto the summit of Bimberi. Camping either in Murrays Gap or near the summit dpending on the weather, and returning via the same route on Sunday (possibly with a side trip up Mt Murray). Mixture of fire trails and off track walking.
Suitable for people who have previous overnight walking experience (If I don't know you please email me steven m hare [at] gmail dot com to advise previous experience). Bimberi peak is an alpine area, above the treeline and as such weather can be highly variable and may be quite cold.
Expect to be rewarded with fantastic views from Bimberi, the ACT's highest peak (if the weather is fine).
