Come and try bushwalking!
Join me on a social bushwalk in the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve on Saturday. The forecast is looking reasonably good with a high of 16, should be a good sunny day to be outside and enjoy the sun. The Gibraltar peak walk offers a variety of different landscapes, geographical features, stunning views and an abundance of native flora and bird life. This would be a good walk to get a taste of what the stunning wilderness around Canberra has to offer.
The plan is to meet at the SRA at 10.15. Then drive up to Tibdinbilla reserve parking at Dalsetta. We will be following the standard route up to Gibraltar Peak. Then we will have a shared lunch at the top. After that we will return the same way back to the cars and aim to be back in Canberra around 4pm.
The distance is 8.2km return, but it does have some climbs so you will need to be reasonably fit.
You need to bring:
- comfortable shoes for walking
- something warm: jumper, beanie
- waterproof and windproof jacket
- sunhat and sunscreen
- whistle
- food for shared lunch
- 1L of water
- $10 cash to pay drivers' petrol + park's pass
This is a come-and-try event so you don't have to be an existing member to sign up. Both members and non-members are welcomed to sign up. Please indicate if you have a car.
