Want more practice of the stuff you learned on the first rope skills day? Want to try abseiling for the first time? Just a bit too lazy to go all the way to the snow? I'll be running another day of rope skills for anyone interested in getting ready for canyoning season.
Same as last time, we'll meet at the gear store at 9am, head to Wingello, north of Goulburn. From there its about a 15 minute walk to the crag where we'll set up a few anchors and run through abseils. What we cover will vary depending on numbers and interest, but it will be focused on what you need to go on canyons later in the year. If we can I still want to cover setting up a haul, and abseiling past a knot.
What to hire from the gear store:
-canyoning harness
-belay device + at least 2 locking carabiners
-helmet
-set of prussiks (for purchase at the gear store)
-Also bring lunch plus at least 1l water
-gloves, beanie, warm clothes, a jacket. It'll be cold!
