This trip is for complete beginners who want to eventually be able to get out into the backcountry. I'll be teaching people very basic cross country skiing technique, with the aim of skiing across country (on the flat) to a super cute hut, where we will have lunch before returning to the cars. You'll also get some familiarity with packing for, and acting responsibly in, the snow.
Don't know the difference between Cross Country, Alpine and Back Country skiing? No worries, I'll talk everyone through it at the pre-trip. Once we've had our chat, we'll select NNNBC or telemark skies to take on the trip. Snow shoers are welcome to join.
In order to attend this trip:
- You must come to the pre-trip meeting.
- You need to be fit enough to do a 15 km walk in a day, carrying a day pack.
If you're relatively comfortable skiing and familiar with snow, then I suggest attending Steve Lade's ski trip, which will be more demanding.
