Hey dudes,
Do you like climbing splitter cracks? Do you enjoy the rush of wind drying your fear-sweat ladden ankles as you thrux yourself up a horrifically unprotected chimney with 100ft of space between you and the ground? Do you enjoy placing cams and then falling on them?
Well have I got the trip for you. I am thinking of taking a trip to Frog Buttress in Southern QLD over the Queen's Bday long weekend for four days of absolute crack climbing glory. Frog Buttress is probably the most famous place for crack climbing in Australia.
Dates are 6-10 June, so leaving Canberra on the evening of the 5th or very early morning on the 6th. It's a 12 hr drive, so milking the climbing for all its worth will be absolutely neccessary. Thankfully Frog has amazing access from the campground - its literally a 5 min walk to the crag, and there are literally hundreds of climbs there. The rock is bomber and the cracks are pristine.
This is a trip for intermediate to experienced climbers, but there is space for 1-2 beginners. Indicate your sport and trad experience and climbing grade when you register.
This is an expression of interest at this stage, so details will come when numbers of attendees firm up.
