Hello! :)
This is a climbing retreat for women/non-binary climbers. We'll be climbing in Nowra (arguably the best place to sport climb in Australia), about a 3 hour drive from Canberra and staying in an Airbnb (yet to be confirmed). We'll drive up early Saturday morning and return Monday night.
There will be the opportunity to practice lead, and also top rope climb. This is a trip for owmen who have been on one of the outdoor trips already, or are already experienced outdoor climbers. The climbing is significantly harder than that at Wickerslack Crag, so sign up if you're keen to push it on harder grades than what we've done at Beginners Workshops. We're expecting you to be confident tying in, and belaying on an ATC at minimum.
We can make an exception for a limited number of beginners who have been climbing at the indoor gym consistently since at least the start of the year, but please send me a message and count your sign up as an expression of interest until we've chatted.
You must bring a harness, climbing shoes, helmet, belay device (ATC or GriGri) and a locking carabiner. These can all be rented from the ANUMC Gear Store open 6-6.30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
If you could also PLEASE LEAVE YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE COMMENTS, along with your phone number/email, if you are able to drive and have a car. I will otherwise assume you haven't read the trip description and remove your registration. Spots on the trip will depend on the number of drivers and experienced climbers, so signing up does not guarantee a place.
PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU CAN DEFINITELY COME. After a week I will close registrations and will be taking deposits for the accommodation. I expect that accommodation and transport will be around $80-100pp for the trip.
Hope to see you there :)
