EDIT. Please let us know if you're also going to the O'week BBQ. Sign up here for BBQ goodness.
Are you scared of heights? Do your hands seem to go sweaty even when you're just thinking about climbing?
Ever wanted to try climbing but talked yourself out of it: "I don't have any upper body strength", "I'm too scared", "people will judge me", "It's all just so intimidating", yada yada yada?
If you answered yes to the above questions, then this is the perfect trip for you! Do come along!! :D
On this trip, We'll head to Wickerslack Crag for some very easy outdoor climbing. This trip is a perfect introduction to climbing for people who have never climbed before (routes here are even easier than routes in the gym!!) . The intention of this trip is to introduce new members to outdoor climbing. Beginners will be belayed by experienced belayers with outdoor climbing experience.
We'll leave from outside the SRA at 7:30 am and return by 12pm, for the BBQ. The crag is a 30 min drive away and and a 15 min walk from the cars.
Bring: water (around 1-2L should be enough), some snacks to eat, sun protection, some coins to pay drivers for fuel costs ( should cost $2-$4 ish ) . I'll organise all the climbing gear.
There will be no pretrip meeting: all logistics will be organised via email or fb messenger.
When you sign up, please let me know:
-your shoe size if you don't have your own outdoor climbing shoes
- if you have a car/can drive
- your experience level in outdoor climbing
Get keen!
Drive out to wickerslack lane (approx 30 minutes), walk to the crag (approx 15 minutes), climb, and come back to anu by 12pm.
