Calling for those amphibious bushwalkers out there! This is a relaxing trip in celebration of Spring!
From NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/things-to-do/walking-tracks/bingi-dreaming-track):
"Head out for a day walk (13.5km one-way) on the Bingi Dreaming track, a coastal walk that traces the ancient Song Lines of the Yuin Aboriginal people. Enjoy stunning views as you walk.
Traditionally, Dreaming tracks or Song Lines link the places visited by Aboriginal people, the Bingi Dreaming track links campsites, ceremonial and trade sites, fresh water and plentiful coastal food sources. Along the way, you might see stone artefacts or patches of shell middens."
UPDATE: Given the considerable interest shown in this trip, I have decided to accommodate up to 12 participants. We will also do a double car shuffle (40 min/36 km total) with 3 cars (instead of 4) between Congo Point and Tuross Head. So on Saturday 19th, we'll first drive to Congo Point to drop some participants and leave one car at Tuross.
Ideally, this trip will need a car shuffle. We will depart ANU at 6am Saturday 19th and drive for 2.5-3 hours to Tuross Head. We'll leave one car (or 2 out of 4 cars) at Tuross before driving north to Congo Point to start the walk. We can make multiple stops along the journey for "contemplation", admiring the views, and of course, swimming for those who dare the cold!
At the end of the walk, we'll drive back to Congo Point to get the remaining cars and continue our drive to Brou Campground (https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/camping-and-accommodation/campgrounds/brou-lake-campground) where will spend the night (hopefully under a starry night around a campfire). Sunday 20th will be a relaxing day where you can explore Brou Lake, enjoy a walk along the Eurobodalla coast, and of course more swims and/or surf! We will depart Brou Campground for ANU between 15-1600hrs.
I will only accommodate 5 participants at the moment (including myself), but will open up to 8 12 provided 2 additional cars are available.
**Please note that signing up to this trip does not guarantee a spot - I will determine final participants based on experience levels etc. The number of participants is also dependent on car availability.
In line with our Covid-safe policy: do not attend if you're feeling unwell, have flu-like symptoms, have travelled internationally or been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or your health is considered high risk. Please indicate whether or not you have the Covid-safe app.
**Please be aware that depending on weather conditions, this trip may have to be postponed/cancelled to ensure participants' safety.
As stated above
