Updated destination: In line with our high level of caution regarding water levels in canyons, we have relocated this trip to Cascade Falls at Macquarie Pass.
[Original trip description for reference:]
Bungonia Creek Canyon is fairly open and in comparison to Blue Mountains canyons it would be better described as a gorge, but offers long abseils up to a full 50 metres, a series of swims, and great views.

It will as always be a small group with a mix of up and coming canyoning leaders plus limited spots for beginners. Beginners to canyoning should already be active in the club with some experience in other activities and/or have come to ropes practice sessions at the climbing wall.
If you're wondering about the activity, or just want to get more involved in canyoning this year, by all means get in touch at richardsalmons at gmail dot com.
Weather contingency: If it is very hot, I'm researching an alternative location in the Macquarie Pass area, which would also be a good day out. If there is heavy rain, we will have to postpone - we don't want the risk of being caught in floods.
