This is a white water trip from Cassuarina Sands to Uriarra Crossing. This is an intermediate trip. At present water levels the current is swift producing up to Grade 2 rapids. Participants must be comfortable with white water kayaks, wet exit, defensive swim position and self rescue to participate. Please indicate your paddling experience before signing up or contact me directly if you have any questions.
The plan is to meet at the boatshed at 8am (don't be late), load kayaks and head to Casuarina Sands, conduct a car shuffle then commence paddling. The total river distance is around 10km. We'll practice various skill along the way.
We'll need at least two cars each able to carry two kayaks. The club has soft roof racks which can be temporarily fitted. When signbin up please indicate whether you can drive.
All paddling gear is available from the boatshed. Participants will need to bring:
Under Covid-safe practices masks are to be worn in the boatshed and be prepared to wear masks when sharing vehicles.
