Following from the 2 x one day trips to Corang Peak in 2025, this will be a 3 day walk on the Canberra Day long weekend.
Day 1: Depart Wog Wog carpark, walk to Corang Peak for the view. There is 1 creek crossing along here. Proceed further north from Corang, descending on the eroded conglomerate rocks to cross at Burrumbeet Brook, and camp in the valley nearby. We should be able to cross Burrumbeet Brook without getting out feet wet :-) About 15km total.
Day 2: No packs - explore up the valley from the campsite to Admiration Point, and if we make good time, further to Bibbenluke Mountain. The valley has thick scrub, so if it's impassable now, we'll go along the Corang River instead. We did meet a group that had come through there last year near Quiltys Mountain, so it should be OK. Return to the campsite.
Day 3: Return to Wog Wog carpark on the same path as Day 1. About 15km again.
The nearest major hospital is Canberra Hospital. Queanbeyan Hospital is slightly closer.
As this is just after Summer, the days will still be long, but there will be snakes. I plan to take an EPIRB in case of serious issues - eg snakebite.
