Join me for a scenic 17 km hike in Blue Mountain on Sunday 08/02/2026. You can check out the details here:
I'll be leaving Canberra early morning on Saturday 07/02/2025 and drive to the Blue Mountains. I'll be camping at Cathedral Reserve Camping Ground, with the rest of the group from canyoning trips Serendipity Canyon (Beginner-Friendly) | ANU Mountaineering Club and Canyoning in Blue Mountains | ANU Mountaineering Club. On Saturday you can join me for a mountain biking trip (this is not an ANUMC trip and you should be self-sufficient), do your own hike or chill at the campground. Alternatively, you can sort out your own transport and meet me at the start of the hike on Sunday morning at "Pierces Pass Picnic Area, Pierces Pass Rd, Blue Mountains Nat'l Park NSW 2787".
We will start the hike at 9AM on Sunday. The hike features steep ascent and descent, and several river crossings. So, please bring these items with you:
• a towel to dry yourself after river-crossing
• spare dry socks and pants if you like
• plenty of water (3-4 liters per person is my suggestion)
• sunscreen and hat
• proper hiking shoes
• lunch and snacks
I like to consider 7-8 hours for the hike. So, we plan to finish the hike at 5pm and be back in Canberra by 9pm.
