The climbing at Mt Alexandra (Mittagong) is great, with something for everyone and a great range of grades. You can check it out at the The Crag here: http://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/mt-alexandra.
We will meet in the carpark by the tennis courts just down from the SRA at ANU at 7:45 to leave by 8. It's about a 2 hour drive up there so this should give us lots of time for climbing. We'll aim to get back to Canberra at around 8pm.
You will need all your own personal climbing gear (harness, shoes, helmet, locking carabiner, and belay device - autolocking preferred), food and water for the day, hat, sunscreen, insect repellant.
A helmet is essential, if you do not have one you will not be able to come on the trip. You can hire climbing gear at the gear store (http://anumc.org.au/gear-store).
Please let me know your climbing experience when you sign up so I can ensure we have a good mix of experienced and beginner climbers.
Beginners are welcome on this trip, we will go over outdoor climbing techniques.
If anyone else is willing to drive please let me know and I can increase the number of sign ups allowed.
There won't be a pretrip, I will keep in touch via email.
