Archived trip from old website run by laurenbartsch
Due to leave constraints we'll be heading down to Mt Arapiles in Victoria from the 27th of March to the 5th of April - before the main club trip.
This trip is to organise travel to Arapiles. To come on this trip you will need to be a self - sufficient pair with your own trad climbing gear, guides and safety equipment.
It is unlikely that climbing gear will be able to be hired from the Gear Store as Phill's trip will have priority, however we may be able to negotiate to take some of the big cams etc and hand them over to Phill's group when they arrive.
If I haven't been to Arapiles with you beforehand please let me know of your experience and proficiency.
Essential gear includes:
Harness, helmet, personal safety, locking carabiners, sufficient trad rack including (at least 2 sets nuts, set hexes, set cams, slings, biners, cordellette/tape, nut tool), climbing shoes, sun smart gear, camping gear, food and water).
The plan will be to leave after work on Friday 27 March and drive to Greens Lake and camp the night. We will then get up early and continue driving on Sat 28 March and expect to arrive at Arapiles at midday.
All climbers will be proficient trad climbers and will be self sufficient. There will be no direct supervision of climbers by the trip leader. All participants will be made aware of this.
Depending on group size, the white board will be used to keep track of the climbs that groups have attempted with agreed 'alert' times if they are not yet back.
