Archived trip from old website run by Steven Hare
Are you new to Canberra and want to know where the best walking trails are? Or maybe you've decided that you're going to give bushwalking a go in 2016. Or maybe you just want to meet some cool outdoorsy types! Whatever the reason, come along to our Come and Try Session at ANU.
We'll meet outside the Sport Hall near the cafe at 10.30 am and we'll go for a short easy walk over to the Botanic Gardens along some surfaced paths. Along the way we can talk all things bushwalking - great walks near Canberra, other areas to visit, gear, trip planning etc. ride on bike paths to get to Bruce Ridge. We'll then head back to ANU in time for the BBQ at 12!
What to bring:
- Yourself, comfortable clothes to walk in for about 1.5 hours, comfy shoes (sneakers are fine for this walk), watch the weather and dress accordingly (rain jacket if rain is forecast, unless torrential we will go on regardless) a 1L water bottle full of water and some enthusiasm!
Note: There will be a slightly harder come and try walk in the afternoon for those that don't mind steeper tracks and sweating it out up hills!
From ANU to Botanic Gardens then back to ANU
