The plan is to take advantage of the good weather to do an easy back country weekend trip around Guthega Creek. The weather looks sunny but the snow conditions may be a bit icy until the snow melts a little.
To take part in this trip you will need to have a reasonable level of fitness (we'll probably cover around 600-800 vertical metres over the course of the weekend and will be doing some skiing with packs). You’ll preferably have skied back country before using AT gear but there may be room for a few fit beginners (that are comfortable with resort skiing blue runs) on the trip. If using club gear, you'll need to have had Seb's sign off before embarking on the trip. Please state your level of experience in the trip sign-up (signing up does not guarantee a spot because we’ll need to ensure a good beginner/experience ratio).
In terms of what to bring, please familiarise yourself with the list of suggested gear at http://anumc.org.au/activities/skiing
The intended plan is to ski around the old T-bar area and maybe lower Mt Tate, depending on the snow conditions. We’re also hoping to practice some avalanche search and rescue.
