You may have seen Oscar's delightful announcement of ANUMC expedition fund trips this year. If so you would have read that I'll be leading a trad trip to Jordan to climb the red hued massifs of the Wadi Rum desert. The trip is open to all eager climbers (with a limit on available spaces vs experienced climbers). While we will need experienced climbers on the trip (you know who you're u are - and by that I'm not suggesting that I know who you are but rather that you know if you're experienced enough to call yourself experienced), this trip is open to beginners with a sense of adventure and an ability to take care of oneself - the delimiter here is self-sufficiency and autonomous decision making ability on a cliff-face more so than climbing grade or overall outdoors experience.
For those interested in finding out more I will be holding an information session on Tuesday 29 August at 18:00 at the gear store. The session will run for 15-30 mins and cover off on the essentials. If you can't make the info session but are interested please email me and we can sort something out.
Registration for the info session is mandatory even if you are unable to attend to gauge initial interest for the trip. Please arrive on time.
