Archived trip from old website run by Ivan Dovana
How better to view the Australia Day fireworks than in a kayak on Lake Burley Griffin. The aim is to depart from the ANU boat shed and paddle out to have dinner on Springbank Island. At around 8:00 we'll paddle out to the West Basin to watch the show at 9pm. Because this trip will be at night, participants should have previous lake kayaking experience.
What to bring:
- Headlamp
- Warm clothes including windproof/spray jacket
- Dinner (BBQs available but cold is easier)
- Drinking water
- Camera
All other kayaking specific gear will be available from the boatshed.
