This clinic is aimed at people who have been climbing at the gym for a while and want to learn to lead sport climbs outdoors. It will comprise three sessions which will cover lead technique and lead belaying (we'll mock lead in the gym), anchor cleaning (one evening at a convenient location around ANU), and finally leading outdoors at a suitable crag. You will need to attend all three sessions and also do a little reading between each session.
You don't need to be an exceptionally strong climber to learn to lead, but you should be able to climb at least one coloured route on the new wall, or anything on the old wall.
This trip is just a placeholder. I'll choose dates for each of the sessions with the course participants and post those as individual trips. If there is significant interest I will limit the clinic to 6 people, but I'll consider running another.
When you sign up please tell me about your climbing ability, experience, and your climbing goals.
Note: I'm not a professional guide or anything. Listen to me at your own risk!
