For those new the the club and or new to kayaking this is the time to come and see what the club has. This trip is an introduction to the equipment and activities water related.
We will meet at the boat shed (please be on time). Spend around 45 minutes in the shed and setting up for a short paddle. Then, wether dependent we will head out for a short paddle. In total around 2 hours.
Normally this would be a great time to practice rescue techniques but the lake is experiencing some algea problems right now so we will be limiting our exposure to the water.
Our sea kayaks are stable and the double kayaks are more so. It is extremely rare for someone to capsize when they are trying not to. That said if you have concerns please read the current alert for the lake and you can come to a session later in the year when algea levels are lower.
