EOI for this advanced climbing course have been closed!
There's a bunch of strong climbers in the club with the desire to send it, and share that stoke with the rest of us. If that's you, then this trip might be what you're craving. This is an Expression of Interest for a multi-day advanced climbing course in Arapiles/ Blue mountains at the end of 2020.

The purpose of this trip is to provide intermediate/ advanced climbers in the ANUMC with essential skills from anchor building to self rescues, so they may share these skills with other stoked members of the club. The plans and details for this trip are TBC, but the current outline for this trip is for 8 to 10 people to do 3 to 4 days at Arapiles/ Blue mountains (COVID dependent). The general philosophy of this trip is to develop your personal arsenal of climbing skills and your ability to share these skills with others. There will be guides to help teach these fundamental skills at the standards accepted within the guiding industry and as always with the ANUMC, a large emphasis will be on collaboration with each other to share our experience and knowledge.

This trip is for strong climbers with experience in trad, multi-pitch, and sport. The emphasis of this trip is NOT to teach the fundamentals of the sport (ie, trad placements), but instead to refine these skills and focus on mastery.
All expressions of interest will be considered, although a rough outline of the criteria expected for participants is as follows:
- Substantial experience outdoors,
- Have lead multiple trad climbs and built trad anchors,
- Done multiple multi-pitch climbs,
- Lead grade 20 sport,
- This is not a deal-breaker, however, participants must show they are interested/willing to climb hard, pushing physical and psychological barriers.
- Lead an ANUMC climbing trip.
This trip will be partially subsidised by the ANUMC for up to 10 people, with the understanding that participants are expected to lead at least 3 climbing trips within the following year.
If you're a crushing climber with a desire to refine your skills and share your experience with others, I sincerely couldn't recommend this trip more.
