Hi all, this is an expression on interest post for people who might be interested in taking part in a multi-day (230km) kayak camping trip from the bottom of burrenjuck dam to wagga wagga. Numbers will be limited by how many vehicles we can get for drop off and pick up so if you have someone with a car who can do a drop off an pick up and are keen on participating that would be great.
dates are flexible but looking around some time near the 1st December. I would like to allow 10 day for the trip for variation in water flow (it will mostlikey take 7 day during the irrigation season with high water flow)
Due to the length of the trip I am limiting particpants to those with multi day hiking/camping experince. Sorry no beginers. Some kayaking experince would be appriceiated but not essesntial.
For this trip you will need to carry enough food for about 10 days and some method of water filtration. The schedule each day will likley consit of 5-8 hours paddling between campsites so there will be good time to relax, swim, play card games, fish and chat shit around a camp fire. We should be able to camp each night at a prpper campsite given we make the distance each day. Facilities are varied and I will not garantied that we will camp at those each night. The majority of these campsite also have road acess, so in the unplanned event of some sort of emergencies it won't be too diffuclt to get extraction half way down river.
If the response is positive i may plan a trial run which will consist of a one day bridge to bridge paddle along the murrumbidge from Urria crossing to Hall so people can trial their set ups and gear to make it will all work well.
