We are aiming for a relaxing kayaking in Moruya river on the last day of the main trip. The plan is to drive to Moruya. We will paddle up the Moruya River west of Moruya by launching at the boat ramp next to Riverside Park. This is an easy flatwater paddle in a tidal section of the River. There are some shallow spots and while paddling is always possible, avoiding the bottom of the tide makes for easier paddling. The sandy bank adjacent to the Yarragee Recreation Reserve makes for a convenient stop and turnaround point for this paddle. Depending on the timing and the tide, we can start upstream and paddle to the boat ramp or extend the round trip.
Please indicate your kayaking experience here. Trip capacity is 6-8 base on the number of beginner and experienced participants.
This trip heavily depends on weather and COVID situation in NSW and might cancel at any given time.
Here a list of gear you need to bring for kayaking trip:
- Kayak, Life jacket (PFD), Paddle. (We will pick up these from the boatshed and load them to the trailer)
- Clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting wet.
- Dry bag for your electronics and things that you want to keep dry.
- Protective clothing (hat, gloves, sunscreen, sunglasses)
We will have a pre-trip on Tuesday 29/12/2020- 17:30 at boatshed and run a kayaking session at 18:00.
