Hello! I'm looking for expressions of interest for the Larapinta Trail 2021, an expedition sponsored by the ANUMC Expedition Fund.
The Larapinta trail stretches nearly 230km through the heart of central Australia. It follows the spine of the Western MacDonnell ranges, presenting a challenging, steep and expansive trekking experience along each of its 12 sections. The plan is to walk all 12 sections in a single expedition.
This is estimated to take around two weeks. The plan currently is to drive to Alice Springs and commence the expedition, however plans are likely to change and flying is looking more likely due to time restrictions. Several details of the trip remain uncertain at this time, however the plan is to embark around mid to late June and return mid July.
For a little more information about the trek as well as details on the proposed expedition as a whole, here is my trip proposal: larapinta_trail.pdf **Note that details may change between now and the proposed date.
Whilst it will be an amazing and life changing experience for those involved, the trip will be physically demanding and require participants to work well in a group. If the trip sounds interesting to you, please sign up and provide some information about yourself, you’re experience, and fitness levels. Note that this is an EOI and I will be looking at all expressions to find a group of people (four, including myself) that will gel well together.
