Although there was good snow it has largely melted or is patchy in Northern Kosi. So instead we will do a tour around the Main Range instead (subject to iciness).
------------------------
I have some time off in the week beginning June 21 and there's a big dump of snow coming right now! I'm thinking of trying the famous "Kiandra to Kosciuszko" tour depending on how conditions develop over the next couple of weeks.
This trip involves over 100km (130km? depends how you measure) of cross-country skiing, or walking if unlucky with snow cover! We'll stay at huts where possible. I'm not an advanced downhill skier, especially on cross country skis, so will be conservative when skiing around the Main Range. I would rather take more days and take it easy (6-7 days?) but could do fewer days if we need to.
On the logistics side, we could manage with a combination of car shuffle, hired shuttles, and/or bus. We can talk through these options later.
For now, since the trip is still in a tentative state depending on snow, I'm just looking for expressions of interest - registrations will not be binding. If you're interested and available, sign up! If I haven't skied with you before, please also let me know your previous skiing experience.
